Bethany Bolthouse, LMSW

"When we have the courage to walk into our story and own it, we get to write the ending."

Brene Brown

Bethany is a Licensed Master of Social Work who is currently in supervision to become a Licensed Independent Social Worker of Clinical Practice. Bethany moved to the area from the Midwest several years ago and has come to feel very at home in Spartanburg. Prior to the move, Bethany spent several years working as a third grade teacher in a Spanish Immersion school in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bethany enjoys working with clients of all ages with a range of focus areas, including trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. Bethany has a particular area of interest of working with young children and their parents and is working toward certification in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Bethany is also fluent in Spanish and is enjoying learning to use this skill in the therapy setting. Bethany is a fierce believer in the dignity of each person and seeks to provide a space where clients feel heard, accepted, and valued while processing through life challenges and making gentle steps toward change.

When Bethany is off the clock, she is most likely spending time with her husband and young son, either hanging out together at home or off on a hiking adventure in the mountains. Bethany loves reading, attempting creative pursuits (which requires lots of reminders to practice a โ€œgrowth mindsetโ€), traveling, and participating in local running clubs.
