Chris Marchewka, LMSW

Exile (where we don't want to be with people we don't want to be with) forces a decision: Will I focus on what is wrong with the world and feel sorry for myself? Or will I focus my energies on how I can live at my best in this place I find myself?..."I will do my best with what is here.”

― Eugene Peterson

Chris is an LMSW working towards his LISW credential. He served eight years in the United States Marine Corps and worked with many diverse populations nationally and internationally; after service, he was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. Then, he obtained his Master's in Social Work from Fordham University and earned a Crisis Management and Resilience certification. Chris has experience working with adults and adolescents who were justice-involved, first responders, clients with trauma, and the military community.   Chris empowers people by setting goals, providing introspective thought, and education to look beyond the circumstances.  He believes in strengthening and connecting people with resources that can give hope.   Chris uses many modalities when connecting with clients, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(TF-CBT ), and Forgiveness Therapy. He uses humor and reflective thought to help people discover or rediscover passions and move forward. These methods can aid people to move beyond the stigmas of life into a fruitful future.  Each client is given a client-centered, strength-based approach to success. During his free time, Chris enjoys many outdoor activities. He fishes, builds, and gardens with his wife and children.
